As part of the Lean programme it was identified that it would be cost effective and efficient to introduce tool presetting facility.
The tool selected was a Zoller Smile 600 which offered a micron precision tool setting capacity, being carried out completely offline and separate to the machining processes.
The presetter is being piloted on the two new Mazak Variaxis i-700 twin pallet machines, before being rolled out across all machines.
